Tag! I'm it!
Well, I've been tagged. So, here it is. The moment you've all been waiting for.... ok, maybe not. Ees for fun.
10 years ago: I was a sophomore in high school. I would have been almost at the end of the school year so that means I would have been learning how to party and make really stupid choices. I had a crush on Chris Schwartz (who turned out to be one of Clay's best friends, HA!). I was a pretty happy-go-lucky girl. This would be my last year never having a boyfriend. And my last year, for a while, that I would be happy... that's not a story for the blog though. Ask me about it sometime. It's a good excuse to go eat lunch together or something!
On my To-do list today: Uh... go to work from 12-8 and NOT hang out with my husband... boo. Watch a movie, eat, see the parents, REALLY need to call Shan.
What would I do if I suddenly became a BILLIONAIRE:
1. Pay off all our debts including all our family's debt! WOO HOO!!
2. Give a butt-load to our church so we could get this show on the road!
3. Go get Daniel and Shanna, pack up all their stuff and move them here with me!!!
4. Get Izzie groomed.
5. Buy a house. Nothing too fancy though. A little craftsman house that needs a little TLC.
6. Travel, travel, travel.
7. And buy a BIG house in the Hamptons as a vaca house for me and my girls- Shan, Sarah, Rach, LJ, Izzie, Molly, Gracie, and Memzie!
3 Bad Habits:
1. I'm moody... is that a habit?
2. I don't call my friends as much as I need to.
3. I pick at my cuticles.
5 Jobs I've Had:
1. I worked at a Marble Slab Creamery in high school. I really did love it. Marble Slab had just started to become a big thing. I quickly became a shift manager/bookkeeper and developed carpal tunnel from scooping ice cream. I had to quit.
2. Drake Design Photography. I was an assistant photographer and graphic designer... sort of. I was a super fun job and I learned a lot. I got to work with my sis for a while and that was the best time of my life. Workin' with your sister? It just doesn't get any better than that.
3. Talent Plus Gymnastics. I was here for about 5 years. I coached gymnastics and loved it. They are definitely a part of my family and I miss them a lot. I learned a lot about myself at that place. Love you Upsidedowners!!!!
4. Texas Dreams Gymnastics. Worked with my childhood hero, Kim Zmeskal. I had most definitely arrived when I started working here. State-of-the-art facility and amazing kiddos. I was quickly moved up from rec classes to coaching the TOPS girls -- who are the most amazing little girls you will ever meet. I can't believe the Lord blessed me so much and allowed me to work there even for a short season. I had an old back injury that flared up and I had to quit coaching forever. Sad day...
5. Nanny. Love it. Love the kids. Can't wait to be a mom. That's all I can really say.
5 Things People Don't Know About Me:
1. I really love to play games. Any kind of game. It's a little bit of an addiction so I have to be careful.
2. I would love to move over seas for a while.
3. If I could live in a big house with my whole family, I totally would.
4. I didn't vote... oops.
5. I'd like to become a vegitarian.

New Job!
Ok, so I just got a new job as of last week. I'm still doing the nanny thing, but financially we had to do somethin' else. I'm working at a little place in Coppell called Healthy Me Marketplace. It is such a neat little store with BIG potential. They opened a little over a year ago and seem to be doing really well. What is this store all about? I'm glad you asked. It's a market/bistro/cooking school/catering business... I think that about covers it. The food is healthy and tastes amazing! If you are ever goin' out with the girls for lunch, this would be a great place. Or, if you need dinner in a flash-- DON'T ORDER PIZZA!!!--- come in and grab a prepared meal for the whole fam! All ya gotta do is stick it in the oven for a few, and VOILA-- DINNER!! Check out the website and then COME SEE ME!!http://www.healthymemarketplace.com/
There's ALWAYS time for a healthy you!!!

Mother Teresa
So, I've never really studied up on Mother Teresa and I have to confess that I really don't even know that much about her. I've had several people bring her up in the past few weeks (including our pastor this past Sunday)-- so, I decided to look her up.If you have never read anything about her, just go to Wikipedia and see what it says. There is so much to know. She was a nun, but decided to give up the convent life to live and take care of the poor. Now I know that living in a convent doesn't sound that great to us, but that is all she knew and it was a safe place. Can you even imagine. There were days she would go without food and would be forced to steal to save herself from starvation. She would walk for days looking for a place to live until her whole body ached. And through it all, she only had to say a word to be back in the convent. I love this excerpt from Wikipedia talking about one particular incident:
"Teresa wrote in her diary that her first year was fraught with difficulties. She had no income and had to resort to begging for food and supplies. Teresa experienced doubt, loneliness and the temptation to return to the comfort of convent life during these early months. She wrote in her diary:
'Our Lord wants me to be a free nun covered with the poverty of the cross. Today I learned a good lesson. The poverty of the poor must be so hard for them. While looking for a home I walked and walked till my arms and legs ached. I thought how much they must ache in body and soul, looking for a home, food and health. Then the comfort of Loreto [her former order] came to tempt me. 'You have only to say the word and all that will be yours again,' the Tempter kept on saying ... Of free choice, my God, and out of love for you, I desire to remain and do whatever be your Holy will in my regard. I did not let a single tear come.'"
'Our Lord wants me to be a free nun covered with the poverty of the cross. Today I learned a good lesson. The poverty of the poor must be so hard for them. I could go on for a while, but I'll leave it up to you to research her life if you're interested. I am a pretty selfish person. I rarely look at these kinds of things and therefore I feel like I fail to learn anything about who our God really is. Most of the time I avoid the news and matters that are "depressing" because I just don't want to feel bad. And although I do not intend on going out looking for all the sadness in the world, I DO intend on making it a point to learn from the lives of others. What Mother Teresa did for mankind was beautiful. She depicts the kind of selflessness I would love to have. And even though surrounded by death and sadness she seemed to always have hope, faith and love. I want to live like that.
"Holiness is not the luxury of the few; it is a simply duty, for you and for me, because Jesus has very clearly stated, 'Be ye holy as my father in heaven is holy.' So let us pray for each other that we grow in love for each other, and through this love become holy as Jesus wants us to be for he died out of love for us."-- Mother Teresa
